The pysanka (pular: pysanky) is fae more than just a decorated Easter egg - it's a cultural code, a sumbol of renewal, protection, and deep-rooted heritage. It’s origins date back to pre-Christian times and continue to live an as an integral part of Ukrainian identity.

At PigRat studio, we created this project to share the beauty and meaning of ukrainian pysanky with the world. Our goal was to highlight how this tradition varies from region to region - with each area of Ukraine having its own distinctive symbols, colors, and arnamentation styles.
